Hello, and congratulations on your pregnancy!

I’m Rachel, a Lead Maternity Carer (LMC) midwife with Rātā Midwives, providing continuity of care throughout parts of Christchurch, Rolleston, Selwyn and surrounding areas. After the births of my three boys, I discovered a passion for supporting women through pregnancy, birth and the early weeks of parenthood.

I provide woman-centred, evidence-based care built on informed choice, trust and respectful communication. I support home birth, primary birthing unit and open to hospital birth if medically indicated, working with you to create a birth experience that reflects your values and goals. I believe birth is a powerful and transformative experience, and my role is to provide information, encouragement and skilled midwifery care so you feel confident and supported.

It is a privilege to care for women and their whānau during this special time, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey.

Clinic days are Monday mornings at Oromairaki Primary Birthing Unit, Rolleston, and Wednesday afternoons at Kurawaka Waipapa Primary Birthing Unit, Christchurch. I welcome enquiries for home and primary birthing unit births. Returning clients are always welcome to contact me, regardless of my availability.
