First and foremost, I’m a māmā to three tamariki aged 14, 13 and 7, living in Parklands, Ōtautahi. Outside of midwifery, I love spending quality time with my whānau and friends, playing rugby, rugby league and softball, and keeping connected with the things that make me smile.

As a Kahu Pōkai Māori with Ōhua Midwives, I feel privileged to walk alongside our whānau Māori, particularly across the east of Ōtautahi, through their hapūtanga, birth and early parenting journeys.

My approach to midwifery is grounded in whakawhanaungatanga, manaakitanga, aroha and tikanga Māori. I’m passionate about reclaiming our traditional birthing practices and reconnecting with the mātauranga passed down through our tipuna.

This includes honouring our pēpi who make it to te ao mārama, as well as those who don’t, and supporting whānau through these journeys with aroha, dignity and space to honour their pēpi in ways that feel right for them.

I believe in mana motuhake for whānau, supporting you to make informed choices and feel confident in your journey, while keeping the wellbeing of māmā and pēpi at the heart of my care.

I’m proud to be part of Ōhua Midwives, providing whānau-centred care that honours who we are, where we come from and the importance of our whakapapa, tikanga and connection to one another.

You’ll find me at Ōhua Clinic, 27B Berry Street, St Albans.
