Kia ora, and congratulations on your pregnancy!

I’m Cherie, a registered midwife based in Ōtautahi/Christchurch. I recently relocated here with my husband, our baby and toddler, and our two dogs — so I understand how transformative and busy this season of life can be.

I feel incredibly privileged to walk alongside women and their whānau during this time. My approach to midwifery prioritises informed woman-centred care — creating a space where you feel heard, respected, and confident in your choices.

I am passionate about physiological birth and supporting women to trust their bodies. I have a strong preference for home/primary birthing. If hospital care is needed, I will continue to support you, working closely with the wider maternity team to ensure safe, seamless care.

I love building strong relationships with the whānau I work with and supporting you to feel confident as you step into this new chapter.

I currently do clinics on Wednesday afternoons at Oromairaki birthing unit.
