Hello! My name is Katherine. Congratulations on your pregnancy! I am an experienced midwife based in Rongotai and I work alongside my practice partners at Miramar Midwives to provide continuity of midwifery care. I am originally from Wellington, but I have also lived in Japan for 15 years. I became passionate about midwifery following my own children’s births in Japan, and I realised I wanted to work with women and their families to help them to achieve a safe and positive birth experience. I have a unique understanding of some of the challenges women face when birthing away from family, in an unfamiliar maternity system. I am passionate about information sharing and supporting women and their families to make decisions that best meet their and their babies needs. I will work with you during those first few magical weeks of your baby's life to support you with breastfeeding and baby care.
