About me
Kia ora and Talofa!
My name is Alicia, and I am a proud Māori and Samoan midwife. I descend from Ngāpuhi and Ngāti Maniapoto iwi, and from Apolima in Samoa. Born and raised in South Auckland, I also speak fluent Tagalog after living in the Philippines for two years.
I believe birth is a normal, naturally occurring event, and I focus on providing primary care for women with uncomplicated pregnancies. I work in partnership with women to provide individualised care that respects their choices and supports their beliefs.
Before becoming a Lead Maternity Carer (LMC), I worked at Middlemore Hospital for 15 months. I enjoy supporting women and whānau in a primary care setting and am passionate about providing culturally respectful, safe, and supportive midwifery care.
I support births at Ngā Hau Birthing Centre, Papakura Maternity Unit, and Middlemore Hospital. It would be a privilege to walk alongside you and your whānau during this special time.
