About me
Kia ora and Welcome to the Ngahau Birthing Unit Caseloading Team. Under our team you'll have shared care by four beautiful midwives who will provide continuity of care for low risk women wanting to birth at out unit based in Māngere.
Kia ora and congratulations on your pregnancy. My name is Bonnielee Bell and I am a Māori midwife who descends from Ngāpuhi and Ngāti Maniapoto.
My philosophy is birth is a normal, natural occurring event and therefore provide a focus on PRIMARY care for women who have an uncomplicated pregnancy, labour and birth and wish to birth at Nga Hau Primary Birthing Unit. Whilst caring for you throughout your pregnancy, my role is to provide continuity of care from the time we register together to supporting you during your natural labour and birth. Following the birth of your baby we will continue this partnership until 5-6 weeks postnatal. Throughout this time, together we will work in partnership where I will support and educate you to be an active participant in your journey
