Congrats on your pregnancy! My name is Amie and I have been a midwife for 14 years. I have seen the job through the lens of a rural homebirth midwife, secondary care midwife, mentor, and even educator. I work in Te Puke and surrounding areas and encourage birth at home, Bethlehem Birthing centre and the hospital.

I believe in the power of the female body and trust birth. My philosophy it to maintain that level of care in every aspect of maternity care but with knowledge, experience and science to also lead me. I actively encourage informed consent and patients rights and by doing so I believe this encourages an engaged, strong woman who takes ownership of her journey. My passion is the postnatal period, breastfeeding and the 4th trimester.
