Congratulations on your pregnancy! And thank you for considering me to be your midwife to share in your journey in welcoming a new life.

I grew up and first studied at Uni in Berlin, Germany, but have lived in Dunedin since 2005.

My two teenage children were born here.

Before I graduated in midwifery in 2023, my experiences include studies in German and English linguistics and literature (teaching), tutoring and workshop facilitation, childcare, managing community and environmental organisations, sales, publishing, marketing, and project management.

I am passionate about empowering women and birthing people with their whānau in experiences that align with their beliefs and priorities. I enjoy the shared learning journey that every pregnancy and birth holds, since they vary so much for every person/whānau from all walks of life and different cultures.

I provide inclusive LMC midwifery care through pregnancy until birth and for 6 weeks postnatally. Antenatal appointments are held at my practice rooms in Central Dunedin, unless arranged otherwise. I usually allow 1 hour for antenatal appointments. Partners, children, and support people are always welcome of course. Postnatal appointments are generally home visits, and I enjoy taking the time needed to provide individualised support. I work together mostly with my midwifery partner Stefanie Kalmakoff, who is also a Lactation Consultant, but enjoy the support and collaboration with different midwives. All care can be held completely in German if you so wish.
