My name is Kate Wicks, and I’m excited to be offering midwifery care for women and families in Queenstown and the surrounding areas. Having come from Auckland City Hospital, I am experienced in both normal physiological pregnancies, and high risk pregnancies where specialist care is required.

I provide antenatal, labour & birth, and postnatal care under the New Zealand LMC model, which supports continuity of care throughout your entire pregnancy and up to 6 weeks postpartum.

I view pregnancy and birth as a beautiful part of life, and my philosophy is rooted in providing holistic, whānau-centred care. My goal is to support you in having a low-impact, empowering pregnancy and birthing experience. I aim to share knowledge and provide guidance such that you can make informed choices, ensuring safe and personalised care for both you and your baby.

If specialist care is needed, I work closely with a trusted network of professionals, including obstetricians, GPs, physiotherapists, osteopaths, naturopaths, and mental health specialists, to ensure your unique needs are met. Whether you choose to birth locally in Queenstown or at Southland Hospital in Invercargill, I’ll be by your side. I work alongside the Mountain Midwives team – a small, dedicated group of LMC midwives offering personalised care throughout your entire pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum period.
