Kia ora and congratulations! I am an experienced midwife caring for around 4 women each month. Most of my mahi is in the community, supporting wāhine with uncomplicated pregnancies to birth in a primary setting. My clinic is at River Ridge East Birth Centre, where I see you while you are pregnant. A key part of my role is recognising when something needs extra attention. If complications arise, I’ll talk this through with you and, with your consent, refer you to the appropriate specialist maternity services. If your pregnancy concludes with an induction or an operative birth, I will work collaboratively with hospital midwives and doctors to support you. While I fully appreciate and advocate for maternal choice, if you prefer to birth in hospital without a medical reason to do so, I may not be the right midwife for you. I hold this professional boundary based on clear evidence that outcomes for well women with uncomplicated pregnancies are significantly improved when birth occurs in a primary setting.

Texts are my preferred form of contact and these are encouraged Monday-Friday 8am-5pm (please do not phone in the evenings or the weekend as my availability at these times is reserved for urgent midwifery care).
