My name is Dhara, I provide full LMC care in Christchurch and Selwyn.

My philosophy centers on working in partnership with whānau by creating a calm, supportive, and culturally respectful environment where one feels safe, heard, and empowered throughout pregnancy, birth, and the early postnatal period.

I believe that feeling safe and connected is essential to facilitating physiological birth. I especially enjoy supporting birth at home or primary birthing units, as evidence shows they are safe and associated with lower intervention rates for well pregnancies.

When hospital care is required, I liaise and work collaboratively with core staff and specialist teams to ensure safe, coordinated, and seamless care.

I am fluent in English, Hindi, Gujarati, and Kutchi and can also speak some Bengali and Marathi.
