Amanda Stoat

I am based in Temuka and work out of Timaru.

I am originally from Timaru, have trained in Auckland and worked in a variety of settings.

I feel women should have control of their childbirth experience and be active decision makers to achieve the best pregnancy and birth possible. My role is to support and guide you, and help you find the right information to make wise and safe choices.

I am available for women from early pregnancy to 4-6 weeks after delivery. I provide continuity of care as lead maternity carer. I will see you throughout your pregnancy, be at your labour and birth and see you for home visits with you and your baby. I am able to provide you with professional care that’s shaped by your needs. I have a clinic in Washdyke on a Tuesday, and appointments are between 9am and 3.30pm. Your first appointment takes approximately 1 hour and follow up appointments are 30 minutes. In New Zealand, employees who are pregnant are entitled to up to 10 days of unpaid special leave for these appointments.

My normal work hours are Monday to Friday 9-4pm for routine visits and appointments, txt are ok for all non-urgent needs within these hours, but be aware I may not be able to respond immediately. I am on call for emergencies, urgent matters and birth outside these hours, and contact is by phone call not txt. I cover Timaru north to the Rangitata and Pleasant Point up to Fairlie. To enquire about having me as your LMC, please phone or text me, alternatively you can email. Please provide your name, last period or due date, area you live in and which number baby you are having. I endeavour to respond to all enquires, however please check my availability, and allow me a day or two.
