I have been a midwife for over 20 years, beginning my career in Cornwall, UK, before moving to New Zealand in 2005. Over the years I have worked as an LMC, Midwifery Educator and Midwifery Manager of the North Shore maternity unit. I am now an LMC midwife, with clinics at Village Midwives in Silverdale and in Helensville. I chose midwifery because I wanted to help women have a positive and empowering experience of pregnancy, birth and beyond. I believe in holistic, personalised care that supports the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual wellbeing of women and their whānau. I am especially passionate about supporting young and vulnerable māmā. I believe the care women receive during this time can empower them, strengthen whānau and change lives. Outside of midwifery, my children, Aaron, Seb and Harry, are my world. Alex and I live on a lifestyle block in Makarau on the Kaipara Coast, surrounded by horses, dogs and cats. We love family, animals and enjoying the outdoors and lifestyle and community.
