About me
Congratulations on your pregnancy! I became a midwife being inspired by NZ's Continuity of Care model through my own pregnancy & birth experience. Birth is a normal and empowering life experience, but it can get complicated for some women. Trustful relationship with your midwife is the key that you feel safe, supported and most importantly, enjoy your special journey.
I strive to deliver woman-centred, informative and inclusive care. I respect each woman’s unique cultural background. If this would be your first pregnancy or you came from another country, you may be unfamiliar with NZ Maternity services. I am pleased to help answer any questions you may have. Where complications arise, I work closely with the Obstetric/Pediatric team and other health professionals to help you achieve a safe and positive outcome.
I am originally from Japan, and a mother of one active teenager who was born in Queenstown. I spent some time in Brazil before moving to Queenstown, then married to my NZ-born husband.
(Portuguese) Parabéns pela sua gravidez. Eu morei em Campinas, São Paulo por um ano. Adorei a experiência e a cultura. Entendo português e falo um pouco.

I work in a supportive team of the Whakatipu Midwives with Keri, Nicci and Grace. We take a small number of women each month to ensure thorough care with continuity. We support each other and provide 24/7 safe midwifery care as a team. I offer full midwifery care throughout pregnancy, labour & birth, alongside up to 6 weeks postnatal care.
I am a good communicator with experience of supporting women from 30+ different countries. Thank you for visiting my profile page. I look forward to hearing from you.
