About me
Kia Ora!
I’m a Māori Midwife and Lactation Consultant, passionate about supporting māmā and whānau through pregnancy, birth, and beyond. My focus is on creating a safe, caring space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered on your journey. I'm married, a proud māmā of five tamariki and a loving grandmother to three mokopuna. Over the last 24 years I have worked in many clinical roles including home births, primary birthing units, secondary and tertiary settings across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. I have also had the privilege of working in Māori health, including project management roles in Hapū Wānanga and SUDI prevention. Alongside midwifery, I have supported whānau as a Lactation Consultant, helping māmā feel confident and supported with breastfeeding. I bring warmth, dedication, and a down-to-earth approach along with the skills and experience to guide you with confidence. Most of all, I love walking alongside māmā and whānau as they prepare to welcome their precious pēpi into the world.
You can contact me by using the email form below or email me direct at afromama72@gmail.com. I’d love to know a little more about you, so please share your name, phone number, approximate due date, and whether this is your first pēpi (baby) or not. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
