My name is Carla and I’ve been a midwife for over 10 years, with most of that time spent in Puawai Aroha Maternity Unit in Gisborne.

I have a strong belief in the power of normal pregnancy and birth, and I’m passionate about providing care that is individualised, informed, and respectful. I only take a small caseload of women to help provide the best care I can. It would be a privilege to walk alongside you and your whānau on this special journey.

I’m part of Ahu Midwifery—a close-knit group of four experienced midwives who work together to ensure you receive safe, supportive care. We share responsibilities for urgent care and labour and birth, which allows us to maintain a balance between giving quality care to you and your whānau and having time with our own young families.
