Hello my name is Aisling. I'm originally from Spain.

I've been a midwife for more than 20 years and before that I worked as a nurse in an accident and emergency department. I trained in London, UK where I worked in a high risk hospital setting for a few years but then worked mainly in the community supporting women who chose to give birth at home.

I moved to Hawke's Bay 11 years ago and started working as a core midwife at the Hastings Hospital. I left the hospital after 3 years to become an LMC midwife. I'm married and have three beautiful girls.

I absolutely love my job. I provide antenatal, labour and postnatal care and if needed I will provide breastfeeding support. I work as part of a team of 4 very experienced midwives, we are the Kowhai Midwife Collective.
