My name is Anau Fonua. I am of Tongan descent, born and raised in the Kingdom of Tonga before migrating to New Zealand. I speak my mother tongue fluently and also communicate confidently in English.

Continuity of care is something I am very passionate about. I have previously worked as a hospital midwife in labour and birthing wards and birthing units, providing care for māmā and pēpē with both low-risk and complex pregnancies. My experience includes supporting and advocating for māmā and their families throughout pregnancy, during birth, and in the postnatal period.

I am committed to providing compassionate, respectful, and culturally safe care, ensuring that each woman and her family feel heard, supported and empowered during their maternity journey.
