The word "Midwife" means "with women". I believe it is a privilege working with women, walking alongside them and their families during the journey of pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period. This is why I love midwifery.
I was a physiotherapist for 23 years and the joy, passion and challenges of working with women is what has lead me to midwifery. I find that aspects of my previous career are complementary to caring for women on their maternity journey.
I practice from Cambridge Midwifery Clinic and visit with Te Awamutu clients at Te Awamutu Birth Centre or in our Cambridge clinic. I work in partnership with Yvonne Szabo and we share similar philosophies in the care that we provide.
Where you choose to birth is your choice whether it be at home, in a birth centre or in the hospital setting. I currently have access to Waterford, River Ridge East, Te Awamutu and Pohlen birth centres.
