About Me

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I am a Lead Maternity Carer (LMC) midwife, working in and around the Hastings, Napier & CHB areas. I first trained as a registered nurse, and then was privileged to have the opportunity to discover the best career ever as a midwife about 28 years ago. Working for many years as a hospital midwife before becoming an LMC has given me a good grounding to provide a high standard of care during your pregnancy and the birth of your precious baby, no matter what type of birth experience you have. After the birth I will visit you at home for up to 6 weeks after the birth to support you as you get to know your baby. I believe in the power of women's bodies to give birth. My aim is to enable women to have as normal & positive birth experience as possible, without compromising the safety of mother or baby. I can assist in all types of labour pain management from massage, breathing techniques, TENS machine, hydrotherapy through to medical analgesia if requested or required.

How to Get Hold of Me

Please ring or text 027 276 1332, preferably during office hours. I am happy to meet and chat with you about your needs and the how the maternity system works, with no obligation to make a decision at your initial visit. It is very important to choose a midwife you feel comfortable with, and one you feel you can trust, so you and your family can relax and enjoy your experience. I am almost always on call when in town, as I prefer to take care of my own clients. This means you have approximately 95% chance of having the midwife of your choice at your birth if you decide you would like me to be your midwife.
