Kia ora! Your pregnancy – whether it is your first or fifth baby - is a unique journey that can be a roller coaster of emotions from excitement, to anticipation, to nervousness, and empowering as you transition into motherhood. I am Canadian born and have come to New Zealand to pursue a career in midwifery. I work with Lee Hughes and we provide shared care, working week-on, week-off. As your team, we are responsible for your care from the time you register with us up until six weeks after the birth of your baby. This could include referring you to other healthcare professionals to ensure you receive safe and holistic care. During our appointments, we will discuss all your options from place of birth, to who’s catching your baby, to vitamin K and immunisations. It is important that you know and understand your choices, your pregnancy, your body, and your baby so that you can be best prepared for the challenging but rewarding experience to come.
